This inspirational session will give you an amazing illustration about how technology is becoming key in sailing sports.

We will talk about the SailGP : SailGP is a sailing racing series that features some of the world’s best sailors competing in extremely high-performance foiling catamarans called F50s. These boats can reach amazing speeds of 95 km/h.

The F50 catamarans are equipped with numerous sensors that collect data on things like boat speed, angle of attack, rudder positions, wing trim, etc.

This telemetry data is analyzed to understand what settings and crew techniques lead to maximum performance.

AI is leveraged in different aspects also of the performance of the F50
