Franc has close to 30 years of commitment to the protection of human rights and the fight against injustice. Passionate about his work, direct, tenacious, and difficult to dissuade, Franc has the firm conviction that change is possible and that we can live in a fairer, humane, and sustainable world.
He is Civil Engineer by training and has studies in International Development, Social exclusion as well as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. He started as a hydraulic engineer working contexts such as Latin America, the Balkans or Senegal. In 2012, he became Global Chief Programs Officer, managing all Oxfam’s work across 70 countries. All along he has combined his work with lecturing at numerous universities. In April 2020 he was appointed CEO Oxfam Intermón.
In 2023 he received the Ildefons Cerdà Medal, in recognition of ‘his career of excellence in the field of international cooperation and his direct impact on the majority of people’s lives in vulnerable communities around the world’.
