Alma Miller is the Miami-based head of U.S. operations and board member for the global technology consultancy Sngular (sngular.com). Prior to joining Sngular, Alma had a highly decorated +25 year career as a marketing executive at BBVA, Vodafone and Telefonica Yellow Pages, working extensively in markets throughout Europe, the U.S., Mexico and South America (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay). Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she began her career in New York and moved to Spain where she lived for more than 20 years before returning to the U.S. in 2012.

When she joined Sngular in 2016, Alma was charged with growing the company’s business in the U.S. At the time, Alma did not have any experience in the information technology industry, nor with technology consultancies, nor with startup companies. Indeed, when she joined Sngular, Alma was the only member of Sngular’s U.S. team who was not an engineer. Alma nonetheless embraced the challenges and opportunities of diving into this new world and, fast forward six years, she has helped grow and nurture Sngular’s U.S. team to over 100 talented people who have helped grow annual revenues from $3 million to over $20 million.

Alma will talk about the concept of “working to learn,” how it has inverted traditional notions of professional preparation in the technology industry, and how it has been the cornerstone of Sngular’s commitment to adaptive advantage.
