Sergio Fortes is an Associate Professor at the University of Málaga (Telecom Eng. 2010; MSc/PhD 2017). He worked at CNES, DLR, ESA and Avanti, returning to UMA in 2012 to research AI/ML for mobile & satellite network management, cloud robotics and IoT. PI in 25+ projects/contracts (>€3M). >50 research papers (>1200+ cites, h=21), 3 book chapters, 7 patent filings, and 4 directed PhDs. Former IEEE ComMag IoT Series Editor and UMA Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Transfer.
