John originated the Intelligent Community movement involving over 220 cities three decades ago and continues to serve as the Forum’s leading visionary. He is an award-winning urban planner, urban designer, economic developer, author and professor, specializing in smart cities and intelligent communities. He headed organizations in Toronto, Calgary and Waterloo in Canada as well as supported initiatives globally. His books are published in the USA, UK and the Netherlands.
