Alberto Gago is the Director of AESIA. During the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, he coordinated digital regulation and participated in the negotiation of the AI Act. He spearheaded Spain’s AI Sandbox—the first regulatory testing environment in the EU—and contributed to the establishment of AESIA. He has also represented Spain before the UN, the OECD, and the G20, promoting ethical AI governance and supporting the UN AI Governance Lab in Spain. He stands out for his commitment to advancing safe and ethical AI.
