Industrial property and industry 5.0: the protection of applied art

The decision of the European Court of Justice in the Cofemel case (C-683/17, 12 September 2019) has altered the requirements for the protection of applied arts by copyright. In this presentation we will analyse the growing tendency from several European courts to significantly extend the protection by copyright for everyday objects and the potential impact in the industry.
