María Jesús Almazor

Born in Barcelona, she studied Telecommunications Engineering at the UPC. She has spent her entire working life in the Telefónica Group, where she started in 1994 as a radio network optimiser at Telefónica Móviles España and in 1998 she became Head of Telefónica Móviles for the planning, design, creation and maintenance of the mobile network in Catalonia, where she led the mobile coverage deployment project. In 2006, she was appointed Director of Operations for the Northern Territory of Telefónica España. In 2012, she was made Territorial Director of the Southern Territory, with the main task of commercial activity. In 2018, she was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica España, being responsible for revenues as well as the operation of Telefónica España. In April 2021 she was made CEO of Telefónica Cyber & Cloud Tech, where she is leading the Telefónica group’s project in the cyber security and cloud businesses.
