Carlos is a serial entrepreneur. He is the president of the multinational Secuware since its founding in 1998. Carlos founded Secuware after selling his first multinational Anyware to McAfee in 1998.
Carlos is considered an expert in computer security (he invented the computer antivirus in 1988), although he has made innovations in many areas of technology (video compression, DNA analysis, cryptography, identity systems, sound, image).
He is a Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid where he combined five specialties until 1990. He has an Honoris Causa from the European University of Madrid. He has been President of the Premio Príncipe Felipe Jury, and has given a couple of TED Talks. He has been a professor at various universities and member of the board of the College of Telecommunications Engineers. He developed the Greenblood hypothesis on global warming.
He likes to define himself as a technical guy who can be understood.
