Edge Computing brings the cloud closer to our customers and constitutes the next wave of IT evolution and convergence with networks.

Edge enhances Cloud capabilities, enabling services that have requirements which are difficult to address from the cloud:
– Strict latency (e.g., gaming, AR/VR…)
– High data volumes or bandwidth (e.g. video analytics, video edition)
– Data residency, resiliency and security (e.g. Medical imaging or Industry 4.0)
– Edge Computing requires next generation networks (fibre and 5G)

Telefónica has been working for the past several years to make Edge computing a reality for customers in Spain.
